Just when I thought....

Just when I thought that life was starting to calm down a bit, life threw another ball in my direction! We have been so blessed to have non-stop company the past few months. First, my little sister Molly came for a week. Then on top of her here, my mom joined the fun. Then 2 days after my mom arrived, my dad, and cousin Josh and his wife and 2 kids arrived. We all spent the 4th of July together, and it was amazing. For me, it's a toss up between Christmas and the 4th on being my favorite holiday. It's going to have to be one heck of a Christmas this year to beat the 4th that we had!! We spent the morning playing games, kickball, and had a huge BBQ. In the late afternoon, we went to the beach, and when the sun started to set, we lit firework on the Gulf of Mexico. The kids loved it! ... well, so did the adults :) ... We then had front row seats to the huge firework show that was put on by our city. We had the show in front of us, and the waves behind us. It was truely an unforgettable July 4th. My dad, cousin, and his family left on the 5th, and my mom and sister stayed an extra week. It was so nice to spend much needed time with some of my family.

5 days after my mom and sister left, 2 of my best friends came for a week. It was so much fun!!!! We got amazing tans, sang kareoke, spend all day on a boat, shopped, and did SO much more! Not to mention, they spoiled the crap out of the boys! Then, 3 days after my girlfriends left, Jon and I's best friends of 10 years flew in with their 2 beautiful kids. We had not seen them in a year, so trying to make up for all the lost time was a blast. While they were here, Jon decided that all of our "boat buying" conversations were going to be stopped. He decided that a boat would be a great fit for our family, and so we did it! We finally bought a boat after a year of living in Florida, and being on the water. We are so excited about our new addition, and Ty and Bryce LOVE being on the water. Now, we just have to learn! haha

We have had our home to ourselves for almost 2 weeks now, and it has been nice to get things back to normal. Right when I feel like I can take a deep breathe, and blow out, I realize what the next 2 weeks have in store for us!

I signed Ty up for his first season of soccer, and I also became the Coach of his team, The Stingrays. Our first practice was yesterday, and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing! Jon was there, and that was a blessing! I have 8 kiddos, ages 3-4. I thought that it would be a lot easier than it was! But, about halfway through practice, I realized as long as I keep them moving, it doesn't matter. The parents made me very nervous. If it was just the kids and I, it would be simple. But, I have all the parents sitting in the bleachers critiquing my every move. Thankfully, I have started friendships with a few of them, so they can help me ease into it! Ty is a pro. He has never played before, and had complete control of the ball, and of his balance. Jon and I were proud parents, and look forward to what the rest of the season has in store for us!

Ty starts school on Monday, and in Florida they do things a little differently. Instead of being called Pre-K, it is called VPK, and the state pays for it. I am still not sure where I want him to go. When we first moved here, I enrolled him a place, and he had a very bad experience with a "bully". I have 3 schools that I am juggling around with, and I have to have a decision made by Friday. I just want what is best for my son. He is so excited regaurdless of what happened to him in the past. :)

The Davis Family will be heading back to our roots in 2 weeks. I am so excited to go home to Colorado! Everyone will finally get to meet my adorable Baby Brycey. He will be 9 months, and that is far to long for people to know how amazing he is! We will be stopping in Dallas, TX for a few days to spend time with Jons family. It will be so nice to see ALL of our families. My best friend Rachel is getting married on the 17th, and I was asked to be the Maid of Honor. Jon was asked to marry them, and it is the greatest honor, and pleasure that we have to be part of their special day. We are looking forward to seeing all of our amazing friends again.

I hope this finds everyone well! Until next week.... :)

The weekend for the Davis family was un-eventful... for once! It was so nice to do nothing. It rained all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. As much as Jon and I like to get out of the house on his days off, I think we both enjoyed the jammie day that we had. The past few weeks, we have had a full house with family that came to stay with us for the 4th of July. It was an absolutely amazing time, and my parents and I are talking about making it a yearly family reunion for my brothers, sister and I. I wish that I could have had my whole family together. My cousin and his wife, and 2 little boys drove in from TN. I think that everyone had a good time.

We have a massive backyard, and in the back corner of the lot, it kind of dips in. With all of the rain that we had in 2 days, we had a nature made swimming pool! So on Sunday, we decided to go play in the rain. Ty and the dogs (Riley especially) had so much fun. By the time we were done playing, Jon and I, Ty, and both dogs were completely soaked. It was such a blast though. It had been 3 weeks since it was just our small family of 4, and it was nice to get that back.

Bryces new "thing" this week, is he schrunches his nose, and breathes in and out. It is the cutest thing ever, and everytime he does it, Jon, Ty, and I can't stop laughing. his personality is coming on stronger and stronger everyday, and the 3 of us love watching our baby grow. As much as I enjoy the changes he is growing through in his short life, I am so sad. I look at him and Ty, and wish they could stay where they are forever. It really is so true... They really do grow to fast.

Time to re-connect

It has been far to long since I have posted on here. I am planning on giving a little love to my blog everyday. There is far to much going on to not share! The past year of our lives have been amazing. On August 1st, it will mark the 1 year of us living here in Florida. We absolutely love it here. Colorado is no longer our home. We miss all our amazing family and friends that we left behind, but thankfully, there is facebook for my sanity! :)
We have added the new, perfect addition to our family. Bryce Payton Davis. He is incredible. Our lives have been so blessed with him. Ty is such a good big brother. It definately took awhile, but now, it seems like he can't get enough with Brycey. I'm excited to have the little guy start walking, and running around with Ty. I love the laughter that echoes through my house that they give eachother.
Jon is still working away at Hampton Imports in Ft. Walton Beach. He is finally getting a set schedual, and he now has 2 days off a week. Hopefully that will continue, because the 3 of us can't get enough of him. Sometimes I feel like I am fighting a 4 year old, and 7 month old for his time.

We are happier than we have ever been. Florida seems to be the best decision we ever made.. despite my doubts in the beginning. God definately has a sense of humor with the timing that the opportunity was presented to us, but it has all worked out perfectly, and the blessings that he has given us are obvious.

Welcome to our home!

Hi!!!! I haven't been on in a little over a week, so I apologize! Ty and I actually ended up getting pretty sick the second week we were here. I think that it was due to all the stress, the change in climate and altitude, and as far as I go... THIS PREGNANCY!!! This week has been better though. Ty started his first day of preschool, and he did so good!! His teachers kept rantin' and ravin' at how polite he is, and how well he shares with the other kiddos. He is so smart. I was definately the proud mom, but I was also the mom that couldn't stop the tears! Thank goodness Jon met me on Monday, because there is NO WAY I would have been able to do that alone! (Especially with these out of control hormones!) Ty loved his first week of school, and Jon and I are really excited about the set schedule he is getting on, and it will really come in handy when this baby arrives! He is obviously an only child, and it's definately time for a sibling. :-)

I finally have some pictures of the new Davis Sanctuary! It is still a working progress, but it seems to be coming together nicely! I only have Jon and I's room left, with only a few boxes left to unpack. They are the misc. boxes, so I am really avoiding them! Jon told me today that it is finally starting to feel like home. I ALMOST agree with him. I am still adjusting. It's a lot slower process for me because I really have nothing to occupy my time now that Ty is in school. I am staying busy though! I wasn't really planning on working while I am here, especially with the baby coming in 3 months, but I have been stopped by some people asking about my hair, and alot of the teachers at Tys school have been asking for my business cards. I haven't decided yet, but we will see as things get a little more normal for me. :-) As for the house, we have a 4 bedroom, ranch style home. It is located in Navarre, Fl, and it has a nice, big backyard for the boys to play in. Ty loves to go out and throw the ball to Riley. I swear he could do it for hours!! I will only go outside to hang out during the day. All the creepy crawlies come out at night!! Just last night we noticed a small frog stuck in our window in our bathroom and opened the window to see if we could take the screen off to get it outside again, and it ended up hopping all over the room! It was something I never thought I would have to deal with! Jon saw a snake one night when he took the dogs out, and every night on the outside house wall there are little lizards... not to mention the MASSIVE spiders!!! EEK! I don't do spiders, and totally freik out. .... so gross.... Other than that minor complaint, everything on our home-front is good!!
Work is going well for Jon. He is so busy! The dealership opens at 8am, but he gets there an hour early because he says its the only time he doesn't have his sales guys coming up to him. He is not only the General Sales Manager for the dealership, dealing with so much more than he is used to, but he is now the ONLY manager there. In the past, he has been either a manager for new cars, or a manager for used cars. Now he runs both departments. There was another sales manager working for him, but it didn't work out, and he ended up leaving. The responsibility on Jon is so much, but he loves the new dealership regardless. He is enjoying the work, and enjoying getting to know the guys that he works with. Things are done so differently in the south, and I think that has been one of his biggest adjustments. :-) He hopes that within a few months everything will be where he wants it to be. It's been a very exciting change for him because he has always loved a challenge. Going to a new dealership with so much potential has definately been a welcome change for him. I am so proud of my hubby. He works so hard everyday for his family, and I love him with all my heart.
The little baby growing inside is growing so fast!!! Every morning I wake up, and I swear my belly is bigger! I lost all my weight... not that 5 lbs is alot... while I was sick, but I am back to 4 lbs weight gain. I am happy that I am finally gaining now! I was so ill in the beginning that I would be happy with anything positive! On Friday, Jon finally got everything finalized as far as our new insurance goes, so I will be having my first Florida dr. appt. this week. Hopefully they will be able to tell us if I have a little pink pookie, or blue pookie! I know that once I find out, my time (and money) will be occupied. :-) I have been thinking about taking some sewing classes so that I can have the exact nursery that I want... and seeing as how I can't even sew a button on a shirt, I'm going to have to take them for awhile! It should be fun though. Jon and I are so excited to welcome a new mini Davis/Grigg to our family. December is for sure going to be an extremely busy month for us this year! My mom is planning on coming out the beginning of the month, and staying for a few weeks to help prepare for baby which is due on the 14th. Tys birthday is on the 11th, so it will be really nice to have my mom here to help with his birthday party that he will be having at school. My little brother Cassidy is returning home from his 2 year mission, and instead of going home to CO, he will be meeting my mom here, and going home with her. I'm so excited to see him. I miss him like crazy! My parents are finally going to have all their kids home, and I up and leave! At least I'm still in the country. :-)
We miss all of our family and friends, but Florida is slowly becoming our new home. So until next week, I hope this finds you all well!!
xoxo

First week in Florida!

Well, so far so good! Jon, Ty, and I are adjusting nicely to our new home. It was a rough ride getting here, but now that everything is said and done, it's looking promising! I know that everything happened so fast, but when an opportunity like the one given to us comes around, we decided to take it instead of pass it up. Jon is doing so well at his new dealership. He is now the General Sales Manager of Hampden Imports in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. There is so much work that needs to be done, but he is always game for a challenge, and he is definately the man for the job. The General Manager (Jons boss), Don Moyers brought Jon to the dealership knowing that he was not going to have to worry. Don splits his time between 2 stores, one in Ft. Walton, and one in Lafayette, LA. He has put all of his faith and trust in Jon, and can now focus all his time on what he needs to put it towards. Jon has already made an impact on the owner, and has high hopes for the future of the store.
Ty is doing so well! He loves Florida, and still reffers everything to "Florida". "Mommy, are we going to the Walmart in Florida?" "Are we going to the beach in Florida?" "When we get to Florida, I'm going to get a new seashell." We are still trying to teach him that we LIVE in Florida, and EVERYTHING is Florida. Still a working progress. He always wants to go to the beach, and ocean. He is fearless with the water, which makes me very nervous! He is becoming a professional sand castle builder as well. (The first time we went to the beach while living down here, Jon and I attempted to build a sand castle. Jon built the mote first, which apparently is the last thing to be built? Who knew?! Needless to say, it is something that we are learning as well.) Yesterday we took him to one of the piers in our area, and walked up and down with him. It was so much fun! I had no idea there was so much wildlife here. From the pier we saw 5 dolphins, a huge sea turtle, tons of fish... big and small... and everything that people were catching while fishing! It was so much fun! We will definately be visiting again. Jon and I both agree that one of the first big investments we make out here will be for fishing. Ty had a great time going from person to person to see the catches.
Next week Ty will be making the next big step in his life. Starting preschool. Today him and I went around the area from school to school until we found the right one for him. I was a nervous wreck all day! He didn't want to leave! It just verifies to me that it is time for my little man to officially grow up. It's not a fun reality check. Regardless, we are all very excited. He has had a pretty crazy month, and this will be good for him to have something normal in his life that he can fall back on. Especially since we will be adding a new little Davis to our family in a few months. He wants ALL HIS FRIENDS to be at his birthday, so maybe we should start by getting him some new friends! Even though I know he would love nothing more than to have all of his CO friends fly out to Florida in December!
I am doing good. The heat is a killer out here for me being almost 6 months pregnant, but I know once this baby comes, it will be normal to me. Ty is so funny with it. We walk outside, and he always complains that his nose hurts because of the hot humidity he is breathing. It will take him no time to adjust. I am just about done unpacking our home. If Diamond didn't come out with me, I don't want to think of where I would be right now with everything! She was incredible to have helping me, and I am so grateful that I have her in my life. Poor Dior got sick from the altitude, and weather change, but Diamond says that they are getting back into the groove of things, and the little cutie-pie is doing much better. I will be posting pictures of the house as soon as I fully figure out this whole blogging process!!
The baby is GROWING! I swear everyday I wake up, and my stomach is bigger. I have finally gained my first few pounds of the pregnancy, and that is what we have been waiting for. I still get sick, but it is once in a great while that happens now. We are waiting on our insurance packet to arrive in the mail (Hopefully by the end of the week). Then I can set up my first dr. appt. here in Florida. Hopefully the baby won't be so stubborn, and we will be able to tell what the little pookie is!!! I'm dying to find out if my new favorite color will be blue or pink! This baby moves so much already. Ty was laying on my lap last night, and I just started laughing because the baby was kicking so hard, it was moving his head! He just looked up and smiled. I think the new addition will be so good for all of us. Ty is very excited, and still says he is having a little brother, but when he reffers to the baby it is always a she, or her. Only time will tell with this one!
I thought that by keeping a blog, it would a good thing for all of us. I know that when things finally start to calm down on my end, it will be a hard adjustment being away from the incredible people that we have grown to know and love. I also know that with us up and leaving, it has been very hard on our family. Hopefully this will be a comfort for all of you to know that we are doing well! I will keep it updated on a regular basis, and will always have new pictures posted! Whatever is happening with us here in Florida, we will let you all know! Take care for now!! xoxo
